THE 48 hour film CHALLENGE

SUFF is hosting the very first TAKE48 Film Challenge in August 2019. Registrations are now closed.

To purchase tickets to the TAKE48 screening at the festival on Sunday 15 September, 5PM AEST, please click below.

Standard Registration is $15 per person. Student Registration is $10 per person. This includes film submission and participation in the Filmmaker’s Hub (if you chose to do so).

Prior to the start of the challenge, a theme including a physical item and line of dialogue will be announced. All films must include both the dialogue and mystery item. With only 48 hours to write, shoot and edit, participants are challenged to change the way they think about filmmaking!

Filmmaker’s Hub

To support those who are keen to involve themselves as much as possible within the challenge, we are also offering FREE access to an intensive filmmaker’s hub, hosted by Sydney College of the Arts throughout the 48-hour duration of the challenge.

The Hub will open up the grounds and facilities of the Sydney College of the Arts in Rozelle to aid you in your filmmaking process, saving you precious time in not having to worry about finding suitable locations to film. Industry professionals will also be available at the hub throughout the duration of the challenge as mentors to help give your film the extra edge.

At the end of the 48 hour challenge, there will be a wrap party hosted at SCA for all the filmmaker’s hub attendees to celebrate completing the challenge!
- Access to and involvement with the Filmmaker’s Hub requires an additional step in the registration process, so if you want to come along, make sure you also sign up for the Hub during the standard challenge registration process (which can be found further down this page).

- Spaces are limited to 120 and if you do not register for the Hub you will not be allowed access, so get in quick so you don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!

- You must have a team size between 2 and 8 to register for the hub, however, individuals may register if they are comfortable being placed into a team of other like-minded individuals who wish to join forces.

Don’t worry if you can’t make it out though, you don’t need to attend the hub to enter your film.

Not only will your films have a shot at winning some amazing prizes, but they also have the chance to be screened at the special 48-hour Film Challenge screening session during the main festival!
