TAKE48 is a filmmaking challenge that presents a fun way to test your filmmaking abilities whilst working alongside your friends to battle against the clock over an intense and exciting 48 hours!
The challenge will run entirely in the online world for 2020, and all participants must adhere to the current restrictions around COVID-19 in relation to group sizes, area restrictions and social distancing rules*. This is to ensure the safety of everyone involved, as well as that of the wider community. We see this as just another fun twist that will push you to get extra creative!
TAKE48 2020 will run from 7PM AEST, Friday, August 28th, 2020, to 7PM AEST Sunday, August 30th, 2020. This will give participants a 48-hour window to script, shoot and edit their films. Prior to the start of the challenge, a theme will be announced via our online platforms. All films must include the theme in order to qualify for screening and prizes. With only 48 hours to write, shoot and edit, participants are challenged to change the way they think about filmmaking!
Films must be submitted by 7PM AEST, Sunday, August 30th 2020, and the best films will be chosen and curated by the TAKE48 and SUFF teams for a special TAKE48 screening session. The screening session will be held during SUFF’s online edition**, with various prizes on offer for the best of the best, including items to aid and encourage winners to continue with their filmmaking endeavours.
In order to promote creativity, boost morale, and give everyone something fun to look forward too, TAKE48 2020 will cost $10 per person to take part.
* Due to current COVID-19 restrictions in place, all participants must create their films from within the boundaries and rules of their location.
** If restrictions are eased further during the time leading up to the screening session and larger public gatherings are again allowed, we plan to do our best to find a venue in which to host a live screening session for the films.
